And now a word from our sponsors

While we were relaxing on our cruise, our friends and neighbors were making history in Tacoma. After many years of construction, the 2nd Narrows Bridge opened to fanfare on July 15th. The highlight was a 5K run/walk across the new span. Here are Eli, Mitch & Eve getting all set for their big run.

I have no idea who these people are, I am sure that Mitch sent me the picture because of the hats. The hats are cool and you have to admire people with this creative spirit. Although, technically the bridge is green not black. I know, a minor detail, but why would you use a black marking pen when you could use green!

On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!!! Estimates were 60,000 people participated in the main event.

The hood is already, let's get this party started. Of course, Addie has the best idea. Why walk when you can get Dad to push?

Now a look from the Gig Harbor side of the new span.

And now for a very rare picture of Mitch and Mary together. Don't they look happy? Where are the kids??? Eli is probably climbing over the side to get a better view of the water. Eve, no doubt is babysitting Addie while Kyle takes the picture. But for one brief, shining moment, Mitch and Mary are a couple again and not just Eve & Eli's parents.

BTW Mitch, all that working out looks like it is paying off, you are looking quite svelt!
