The Fountain

The fountain in Millennium Park is a fabulous place to splash on a too hot day in Chicago. The best way to describe it is it's like a football field with these two huge 50 ft. towers where the goal posts would be. On these towers are pictures of faces. And the faces change about every minute or so, showing different citizens of Chicago. These faces face each other all day long.

And then it happens. The face purses its lips and a stream of water comes shooting out.

The kids know exactly when this will happen and the go running the the spot where the water will land.

Then as the water starts to slow, the kids run up to the bottom of the tower and wait. When the face changes the tower goes black and water cascades over the top of the tower, drenching the kids lined up below.
