A Talent Extravaganza

Another Friday night, what to do, what to do, what to do??? So many exciting choices. Can't do them all, so I have to pick ... hmmmmm. Okay, it's off to the Elementary School Talent Show.

This dynamic duo are students in my classroom. Robet&Nashya (pronounced as one word, because they are inseperable) have been the best of buddies for the past few years. Robert came to support Nashya in her solo debut.

After days of rehearsal, Nashya led off the program with her version of "I Believe I Can Fly". She sings all the time at school and did a great job tonight. She can really belt out a song.

And then there was Blake. Blake is a preschooler. He has been asking me for a week if I was going to come to the show and watch him sing. But he would never tell me what song he was singing. By the way, he selected his outfit all by himself. Doesn't he look like Frank Sinatra?

The song that he sang is a preschool favorite with one slight change: Blake wrote his own lyrics, all about socks. It was a show stopper. Especially when the crowd broke into applause after the fourth verse. Blake just stopped and patiently waited for the cheers to die down, then he said, " I'm not done yet." Which totally broke the crowd into fits of laughter. Blake then rolled his eyes and said, "Pretty funny, I get it." And then he began singing and ended with an, "The end." Just in case we were confused.
